Nyandoro has been named among the front-runners for the Kick-Off Footballer
of the Year award, putting him in good stead to cap a memorable debut season
in the South African Premiership.
Nyandoro is the only Zimbabwean international to have been named among the
shortlist of players whom the top selling South African magazine - Kick-Off

past his prime?
Who also said he has retired from the game. That is not true. One
only needs to have watched Tembo in action when his South African club,
Supersport United entertained Santos on Wednesday night in a Castle Premiership
tie at Securicor Loftus Stadium to realise that the former Warriors captain is
still very much in the game.Tembo could be 35 years but the former Warriors captain

ZIMBABWE captain, Peter Ndlovu and compatriot Esrom Nyandoro are set to tour Asia with
their South African club Mamelodi Sundowns for the Peace Cup in July.
The tournament, which brings together Premiership teams from different leagues
in the world, will run from July 15 to July 24 in South Korea.
Sundowns have been drawn in Group B together with English side Tottenham Hotspur,
top Argentinean club Boca Juniors and Spanish side Real Sociedad. Full Story

Ndlovu, who has been under a barrage of criticism by the media in South Africa for
failing to live to his billing as one of the top players in Africa seem to be regaining
his form after he put Sundowns back on track for this year’s Premiership title in their
3-0 victory over Black Leopards at the Securicor Loftus Stadium on Sunday.
Ndlovu, who joined South African Premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns in a record
transfer from Sheffield United in August last year, has been labelled a flop by the

(April 23,2005) Zimbabwean Ace striker Peter Ndlovu does not agree with the many fans who have accused him of
failing to live up to expectations at big-spending Mamelodi Sundowns.
After being recruited at the beginning of the season after a high profile transfer
reported to be worth R1.5-million and with Ndlovu said to be commanding a monthly

coach, Nelson Matongorere, has named a 23 member squad most of them from
Premiership teams to take part in an invitational 16
team tournament in the Netherlands early next month.
Most of the players however, do not feature regularly for their

YOUNG Warriors coach Madinda
Ndlovu has singled out Nigeria as the major threat to Zimbabwe’s quest for glory in
the African Youth Championships, to be held in the Gambia from May 7 to 21.
Speaking to a group of journalists in Harare yesterday, Ndlovu said the Nigerians –
who are the defending champions – will be the most difficult to beat in a group

ZIMBABWE’s foreign-based footballers
will join their local counterparts for a one week training camp in Belgium next
month in preparations for their World Cup/ African Cup of Nations
qualifier against Gabon in Harare on June 6.
Zimbabwe were invited to Belgium for the training camp from 20-29 May,
giving coaches Charles Mhlauri and his assistant Moses Chunga enough time

Wits have found themselves in a deadly situation, the relegation zone – an area that the “Students” are unfamiliar with.
The last time Wits were caught up in the danger zone was during the 2000/01 season, when they closed off the year on 13th spot.

Zimbabwe Warriors goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro
who is yet to play club football this year, will lead
the 18 member Warriors’ squad as captain for this weekend’s COSAFA Castle Cup assignment in Windhoek, Namibia.
Warriors’ coach Charles Mhlauri has kept faith in the shotstopper by handing him the
captain’s armband. He did duty in an African and World Cup qualifier against Angola last
month in a match won 20 by the Warriors.

been resolved - for now.
The Professional Soccer League (PSL) signed a record deal with mobile phone
network Econet Wireless, while champions CAPS United signed a sponsorship deal with

to adhere to domestic rules, one of which requires all member clubs to only wear jerseys

Zimbabwe’s victory against Angola has enhanced The Super Eagles’ chances of qualifying to the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany.

Joseph Ngwenya's impressive play in the United States Major League Soccer has earned
him a call to the senior national squad.
The dreadlocked Ngwenya is one of the players named for the Warriors’

as well as the Independence Silver Jubilee celebrations against Tanzania on
