ZIMBABWE Warriors and Shabanie Mine Football Club right back Method Mwanjali a great revelation on Sunday believes he still has a lot to learn from other players in the senior national soccer team and said he has to work hard to be considered for future national team assignments.

When the warriors walked into the national sports stadium on Sunday for their crucial 2006 world cup and African cup of nations qualifier against Rwanda very few people in the 60 000 seater National Sports Stadium recognized the face of a camera shy guy putting on jersey number four walking alongside the big boys ready to do battle for his country.

After the end of the first half fans in different bays could be heard asking each other who the player in the rightback position was.

For those who rarely watch local premier league action it was difficult to identify the player and they had to rely on their friends who follow the game locally to know who the boy was.

The player Method Mwanjali, age 22 years, club Shabanie Mine place of birth Hwange Colliery.

After the match everyone could be heard talking about the player who had impressed so much in his first international competitive match at home.

Although he was also impressed by his perfomance Mwanjali believes he still has a lot to learn.

The 22 year old player said Zimbabwe’s qualification for Tunisia shows that the country has come of age.

Mwanjali was born on the 25th of April 1983 in Hwange and was spotted by Moses Chunga while playing for Hwange f.c and was lured to Shabanie Mine last year were he has established himself as the most consistent player for the Zvishavane based side .

Although he has played in a number of international matches including the cosafa castle cup last Sunday’s match was Mwanjali’s first international competitive match at the National sports stadium and he did not dissapoint fitting well into the team that had veteran players like Benjani Mwaruwaru, Peter Ndlovu and Dumisani Mpofu.

Should Mwanjali maintain his form then Zimbabwe is set to witness the arrival of another great player as the nation braces itself for the nations cup in Egypt next year.
